Sports

Berjaya supports sports in several ways which include providing financial aid as well as sponsoring awards to recognize those who excel in sports. In the spirit of health living, we inculcate sporting activities in many company events as well as organize charity sporting events to raise funds for community causes.

Some of the sporting events we have supported include the MyTeam reality show, which was shown on TV3 across Malaysia and successfully rekindled the public’s interest in the local football scene. Besides contributing substantially to the National Sports Council annually, we organize tournaments, PJ Half Marathon, among others.

Dato' Sri Robin Tan, CEO of Berjaya Corporation Berhad with Tan Sri Dato' Haji Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin during the presentation ceremony where Berjaya Corporation group of companies contributed 15,000 footballs to school nationwide.

Kenny Roger's ROASTERS Chicken Run is an annual affair to raise funds for charity. To date, the unique charity fun run event has raised more than RM 500,000.

The OCM-Sport Toto Outstanding Athletes of the Games Award was given to two outstanding Malaysian athletes during the London Olympics 2012. Dato' Lee Chong Wei who won the silver medal in the Badminton Men's Single event and Ms. Pandelela Riong Pamg who won the bronze medal in Diving Woman's 10m Platform event.
